Julian Alvarez signals desire to leave Atlético Madrid during World Cup
Argentinian striker Julian Alvarez has indicated his intention to depart Atlético Madrid, following Argentina’s 2-0 World Cup victory over Austria.
Julian Alvarez (26) made his intentions clear during a mixed-zone press conference after Argentina’s World Cup triumph. «It’s not the right time to discuss details, but I can’t hide the truth either. I’ve been honest with Atlético Madrid’s management, and I believe a transfer would be best for everyone involved. I want to pursue my dream of playing elsewhere,» he stated.
The Argentine forward, coveted by top European clubs including Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, confirmed reports of his desire to move on. Atlético Madrid had previously rejected a €150 million bid from Real Madrid, though rumors persist of advanced negotiations between Alvarez and FC Barcelona. Club officials, however, maintain that «the player is not for sale,» despite his clear ambitions.
