Côte d’Ivoire: Laurent Gbagbo introduces new shared leadership model for PPA-CI
Former Ivorian Head of State and PPA-CI leader Laurent Gbagbo has unveiled a major restructuring of his party’s leadership. In an official statement released this week, he announced the appointment of five key figures to strategic positions within the party’s management structure.
The new leadership team includes four vice-presidents and one chairman of the Strategic and Political Council (CSP), each assigned specific responsibilities to enhance the party’s operational efficiency and collective decision-making process.
Key appointments and their roles
- Assoa Adou, designated First Vice-President for Party Doctrine, will oversee compliance with the party’s statutes, internal regulations, and ensure alignment with the party’s guiding principles across all its structures.
- Oulaye Hubert, Second Vice-President in charge of Party Affairs, will preside over Central Committee sessions in accordance with established statutes and the party’s strategic direction.
- Ackan Emmanuel, Third Vice-President responsible for Party Mobilization, will drive political engagement, strengthen outreach efforts, and maintain institutional relations while adhering to the party’s core vision.
- Justin Koné Katinan, Fourth Vice-President tasked with General Policy, will coordinate the development and implementation of the party’s strategic initiatives and government programs.
- Sébastien Dano Djedje has been appointed as CSP Chairman, assuming overall leadership and supervisory duties for the party’s operational framework.
A shift toward collective leadership
In explaining the rationale behind this reorganization, Laurent Gbagbo emphasized that the decision reflects a commitment to shared governance. “The strength of our party lies not in individual leadership but in the unity and collaboration of its dedicated members working toward a common vision,” he stated.
This leadership restructuring follows Gbagbo’s earlier announcement during the PPA-CI Renaissance Day celebration in Songon M’Bratté on May 16, where he outlined plans to revitalize the party’s structure for improved functionality and impact.
