Luther Meka denounces Mamadou Mota’s French as a massacre of the language

André Luther Meka, spokesperson for the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (Rdpc), voiced strong displeasure over the linguistic proficiency of Mamadou Mota, vice-president of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement (Mrc).

The outburst came after Mamadou Mota appeared on Sunday, June 28, 2026, on the program “La Vérité en face” broadcast by Equinoxe TV.

“I watched with great interest the ‘La Vérité en face’ program on Equinoxe TV via YouTube. I am outraged by Mamadou Mota’s butchery of the French language, his disregard for morphosyntax, and his poor command of concepts. It was a true massacre of the language of Ronsard and Lamartine. The pinnacle of mediocrity was displayed last Sunday on the small screen. Good grief!!!!” wrote André Luther Meka on his social media channels.

During the show, Mamadou Mota argued for the return of Maurice Kamto to the leadership of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement (Mrc), despite internal dissent fueled by figures including Willy Mengue.
