Rabat recently hosted a significant working session where Hicham Balaoui, the Kingdom’s Prosecutor General at the Court of Cassation and President of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, engaged with Ousmane Abderamane Djougourou, the Inspector General of Chad’s Independent Authority for the Fight Against Corruption. This meeting, held on Thursday, July 9, was part of a broader visit aimed at exploring Morocco’s successful strategies in both preventing and combating corruption.
During the session, Hicham Balaoui detailed the core components of Morocco’s robust anti-corruption framework. He highlighted the well-established legal and institutional structures supporting these efforts, alongside the proactive penal policy implemented by the Presidency of the Public Prosecutor’s Office. Discussions also delved into various comparative best practices observed in the global fight against corruption, fostering a rich exchange of insights.
The Chadian delegation gained valuable knowledge about several innovative initiatives spearheaded by the Public Prosecutor’s Office. Among these were a dedicated direct telephone line established for citizens to report incidents of corruption and embezzlement, as well as the advanced digital platform known as «e-TABLIGH». This sophisticated tool empowers citizens to confidentially report suspected acts of corruption, ensuring secure processing of all disclosures through state-of-the-art digital technologies.
