Waly Diouf Bodian, a senior official in the Pastef party, has strongly reacted to recent comments made by Professor Mary Teuw Niane regarding verbal violence and respect in public discourse. The political figure criticizes the former Minister of Higher Education for his inconsistency, following earlier attacks directed at Pastef leader Ousmane Sonko.
Bodian firmly dismisses the academic’s calls for calm and questions his institutional stance. “After calling President Ousmane Sonko an impostor, Mary Teuw Niane now comes to lecture us on morality, verbal violence, and respect for others. It’s too late, Professor,” Bodian declared. Continuing his tirade, he added, “Your literary nonsense on Sundays no longer works with us patriots. We do not respect those who do not respect Ousmane Sonko.” He concluded by accusing Niane of abandoning national values to align with the government.
