Tragedy in Yaoundé’s Anguissa neighbourhood
Shock and grief gripped the Anguissa area of Yaoundé’s fourth district on Sunday, 28 June 2026, after a 10‑year‑old girl was brutally stabbed to death. The victim, identified as Sylvana, was attacked in the early hours of the morning while her parents were away from home.
According to witnesses, the suspect – a 22‑year‑old woman – allegedly told investigators she was acting under the influence of the Holy Spirit. The child suffered multiple stab wounds and died at the scene. The alleged perpetrator was arrested later that day at a religious gathering and is now in police custody.
