Among the distinguished winners was journalist Sié Frédéric Kambou, who received the Special Prize from the Ministry of Health in the online press category.

This accolade recognizes his insightful report titled “Au Burkina Faso, la santé sort de l’ombre du privilège !”, which was published on December 26, 2025. Through extensive field research, the journalist documented significant reforms within the national healthcare sector, specifically highlighting the reduction in costs for various medical exams and the removal of the required deposit for dialysis sessions in public hospitals.

Visibly moved while accepting his trophy, Sié Frédéric Kambou shared the honor with his entire newsroom. “I am incredibly touched to receive this award. I dedicate it to the whole editorial staff and the editors-in-chief who constantly motivate us. It wasn’t an easy path, but I am grateful to have succeeded. This is my first major prize, and I am truly happy. I encourage everyone to keep applying and aiming for excellence,” he stated.

The distinction serves as a testament to the journalist’s professionalism and the collective effort of the Burkina 24 team to provide high-quality, relevant information that addresses the daily concerns of citizens. The event also saw Aïcha Diombélé/Kabré from RTB Radio honored as the Super Galian 2026 winner.
