On the occasion of the 22nd World Blood Donor Day, celebrated on 14 June 2026, the National Blood Transfusion Centre (CNTS) of Lomé is calling on residents of the capital and surrounding areas to donate blood.
Under the theme “A drop of humanity. Give blood. Save lives.”, a special blood collection day will be held on Friday 12 June 2026 from 8:00 to 16:00.
Two collection sites in Lomé
Donors can visit one of two designated locations:
- The CNTS premises at Tokoin Doumasséssé, opposite EPP Doumasséssé 1;
- The Collection and Distribution Post (PCD) of Tokoin, located within CHU Sylvanus Olympio, behind the haemodialysis unit.
A call for solidarity to save lives
Through this initiative, the CNTS aims to boost blood reserves and meet the needs of healthcare facilities. The institution urges the public to participate actively in this donation campaign, reminding that a single donation can help save several lives.
“We are all united by giving,” the National Blood Transfusion Centre emphasises, counting on the generosity and civic commitment of donors to make this operation a success.
The CNTS of Lomé thanks in advance all volunteers for their contribution to this solidarity action in favour of patients requiring blood transfusions.
