N’Djamena – World Vision Chad has officially unveiled its groundbreaking 2026-2030 national strategy in a high-profile press conference held in N’Djamena. The ambitious initiative targets 3.29 million children nationwide, with 3.09 million identified as the most vulnerable, through enhanced interventions across health, nutrition, education, child protection, and climate resilience.

During the launch, Carla Dominique Denizard, West Africa Regional Director for World Vision, described the strategy as “bold and innovative”. She emphasized its foundation on the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus approach, which bridges emergency responses with sustainable development and peace-building efforts. “Every child in Chad deserves a life of abundance,” she stated, highlighting the need for strong partnerships, community engagement, and cultural integration to achieve this vision.

Denizard reminded attendees that World Vision’s West and Central Africa vision aims to help children not just survive but thrive in fragile contexts. The region faces persistent challenges including insecurity, multidimensional poverty, climate change impacts, and mass displacement. “Our integrated approach combines humanitarian aid with sustainable development and peace-building,” she explained, “to address these interconnected crises.”

The strategy aligns with key continental and global frameworks including the African Union’s Agenda 2063, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16), and Chad’s Vision 2030. Key priorities include strengthening human capital, social protection, climate adaptation, education improvement through the Unlock Literacy program, and comprehensive child protection.

Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, National Director of World Vision Chad, hailed the launch as a “historic moment” for both the organization and Chad’s children. He revealed this strategy represents a 20% increase in ambition compared to previous cycles, with a simple yet bold goal: reaching 3.29 million children by 2030, including 3.09 million of the most vulnerable. “We want every child in Chad not just to survive, but to truly flourish,” he declared.

Ngoy Wangoy outlined Chad’s persistent challenges: persistent poverty, malnutrition, recurrent humanitarian crises, and climate change impacts. With nearly 42% of Chad’s population living below the poverty line, he stressed the urgent need for intensified support to vulnerable populations.

The 2026-2030 strategy focuses on several critical pillars: integrated nutrition and health programs with special emphasis on maternal and child health, improved education through the Unlock Literacy initiative to build early reading skills, enhanced child protection against all forms of violence, and strengthened community resilience to climate change effects.

Concluding the presentation, World Vision Chad’s leadership issued a collective call to action. They urged national authorities, technical and financial partners, civil society organizations, religious and community leaders, and media outlets to unite in supporting this strategy. “Collective mobilization is essential to transform current challenges into sustainable opportunities for Chad’s children,” they emphasized. Through this bold initiative, World Vision Chad aims to actively contribute to realizing Chad’s Vision 2030 and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, building a nation where every child is protected, well-nourished, educated, and empowered to reach their full potential.
