N’Djamena – World Vision Chad has officially unveiled its 2026-2030 national strategy during a press conference on July 9, 2026, bringing together media representatives, technical and financial partners, and national authorities. The ambitious roadmap aims to impact 3.29 million children by 2030, with 3.09 million of them among the most vulnerable, through enhanced interventions in health, nutrition, education, child protection, and climate resilience. The event took place at the N’Djamena Résidence Hotel.

The Regional Director of World Vision for West Africa, based in Dakar, Carla Dominique Denizard, described the strategy as “bold and innovative.” She highlighted its foundation in the “Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus,” an approach that bridges emergency responses with sustainable development and peacebuilding efforts. “Every child in Chad deserves a life of abundance,” she stated, emphasizing the importance of strong partnerships, community engagement, and cultural integration in achieving this vision.

Denizard further explained that World Vision’s vision for West and Central Africa is to ensure that every child in fragile contexts not only survives but thrives. She pointed out the region’s pressing challenges—insurgency, multidimensional poverty, climate change impacts, and mass displacement—which necessitate an integrated approach combining humanitarian assistance, sustainable development, and peacebuilding.

The strategy aligns with continental and global frameworks, including the African Union’s Agenda 2063, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16), and Chad’s Vision 2030. Key priorities include human capital development, social protection, climate adaptation, education enhancement through the Unlock Literacy program, and child protection.

Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, National Director of World Vision Chad, called the launch a “historic moment” for the organization and the future of Chadian children. He noted that the new strategy represents a 20% increase in ambition compared to the previous cycle, with a clear goal: “Every child in Chad should not just survive but thrive.”

Wangoy also underscored Chad’s persistent challenges—persistent poverty, malnutrition, recurring humanitarian crises, and climate change effects—where nearly 42% of the population lives below the poverty line. To address these issues, the 2026-2030 strategy prioritizes integrated nutrition and health programs, with a focus on maternal and child health, literacy development through Unlock Literacy, child protection, and community resilience against climate impacts.

At the close of the presentation, World Vision Chad’s leadership issued a call to action, urging public authorities, technical and financial partners, civil society, religious leaders, and the media to collaborate in ensuring the strategy’s success. They stressed that collective mobilization is essential to turn current challenges into sustainable opportunities for Chadian children. Through this strategy, World Vision Chad aims to contribute significantly to the country’s Vision 2030 and the achievement of the SDGs, building a future where every child is protected, nourished, educated, and empowered to reach their full potential.
