Morocco and Philippines mark 50 years of diplomatic ties, ambassador highlights untapped potential

The diplomatic relationship between Morocco and the Philippines is built on a solid foundation that can be further developed across several key sectors, according to Philippine Ambassador to Rabat Leslie Baja. He expressed satisfaction with the five decades of bilateral relations, which were commemorated last year.

In an interview, Baja noted that the two countries have shared a rich path marked by high-level visits, multiple signed agreements, and the creation of strong people-to-people ties. He described these as ‘the bedrock for the next fifty years of partnership.’

On the economic front, the Philippine diplomat highlighted a noticeable increase in bilateral trade in recent years, with commerce rising by approximately 50%. However, he acknowledged that trade volumes still fall short of expectations for both nations.
