World Vision Tchad Unveils Ambitious 2030 Strategy to Transform Children’s Lives

N’Djamena – World Vision Tchad has rolled out its bold five-year strategic plan for 2026-2030, setting an ambitious target to reach 3.29 million children across the country. The initiative, unveiled during a high-profile press conference in N’Djamena, combines humanitarian aid, sustainable development, and peacebuilding efforts to create lasting change for the nation’s most vulnerable youth.

Building Resilience Through Integrated Solutions

The launch event brought together development partners, government officials, and media representatives to outline how the strategy will address Tchad’s most pressing challenges. World Vision’s regional director for West Africa, Carla Dominique Denizard, described the plan as “groundbreaking and transformative.” She emphasized the organization’s commitment to the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus approach, which bridges emergency response with long-term development initiatives.

“Every child in Tchad deserves not just to survive, but to thrive,” Denizard stated. “This requires strong partnerships, community engagement, and cultural sensitivity to create sustainable change.” She highlighted the organization’s alignment with continental and global frameworks, including the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

A 20% Increase in Impact

Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, National Director of World Vision Tchad, called the strategy launch a “historic milestone” for the organization. He revealed that the new plan represents a 20% increase in ambition compared to the previous cycle, with a specific focus on reaching 3.09 million of the country’s most at-risk children.

“Our mission is clear: to ensure that every child in Tchad not only survives, but flourishes,” Wangoy explained. He outlined the strategy’s five priority areas:

• Nutrition and health: Integrated programs targeting maternal and child health
• Education: Implementation of the Unlock Literacy program to improve early reading skills
• Child protection: Comprehensive measures to shield children from violence and exploitation
• Climate resilience: Community adaptation strategies for climate change impacts
• Social protection: Strengthening safety nets for vulnerable families

Call for Collective Action

The leadership team concluded the event with a powerful call to action, urging all stakeholders to collaborate in implementing the strategy. “Transforming Tchad’s future requires more than good intentions,” Wangoy emphasized. “We need coordinated efforts from government agencies, financial partners, civil society, religious leaders, and media outlets to turn these challenges into sustainable opportunities for our children.”
