Joint military operations target armed groups in northern Mali
The Malian Armed Forces (FAMA) declared on Thursday that coordinated military operations, conducted with allied partners, resulted in the elimination of nearly a hundred armed militants in the regions of Anfif and Tabrachat, located in northern Mali.
In an official statement, the army specified that these operations were directed against fighters affiliated with the Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (JNIM) and the Azawad Liberation Front (FLA). The offensive included 13 airstrikes, which also led to the destruction of six combat vehicles and a pickup truck.
The Malian military emphasized that these operations took place on Tuesday, as part of an ongoing nationwide campaign against armed groups. The statement underscored the army’s commitment to continuing these efforts “with unwavering discipline and resolve,” in close cooperation with its partners.
Russian Africa Corps reports heavy losses for militants
The Russian Africa Corps, which participated in the operations, shared via a statement on X that a significant number of militant vehicles were destroyed or set ablaze. The Corps also reported that one of its drones successfully targeted another vehicle transporting ammunition and military equipment.
In its update, the Russian Africa Corps described the mission as a “successful joint operation” alongside the Malian Armed Forces, aimed at dismantling armed groups in the region. The Corps vowed to maintain pressure on militant positions and supply lines in the coming days.
