The Moroccan monarchy has established itself as a model of political and economic success on the continent and region, according to Ilan Berman, vice-president of the American Foreign Policy Council.
«The evolution is remarkable. Today, Morocco presents itself clearly as a model: an economic model and a political model at the regional level, but also at the African level,' said Mr. Berman in a statement to the MAP on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of King Mohammed VI’s accession to the throne.
Mr. Berman attributed Morocco’s progress to the vision of the King and the coherence of the strategies implemented under his leadership.
«The King’s vision is clear-sighted, and it will continue to be very valuable,' he said, highlighting the challenges that lie ahead but emphasizing the importance of the monarch’s guidance.
The Moroccan-American relations, which mark this year the 250th anniversary of their establishment, were also under scrutiny. Mr. Berman stressed the «extensive, deep, and dynamic» nature of this strategic and unique partnership.
«This partnership can bring significant gains,' he said, adding that the benefits will extend not only to Morocco’s African strategy but also to the United States’ foreign policy priorities abroad.
