Niger investment forum 2026: Niamey launches organizing committee

Niamey has taken a decisive step toward hosting the Invest in Niger 2026 forum, a landmark event scheduled for November 24–26, 2026. The government officially inaugurated the organizing committee tasked with transforming the forum into a showcase of the country’s economic potential for both domestic and international investors.

The countdown has begun. In the capital, authorities presented the newly formed ad hoc committee responsible for preparing the international forum. Speaking to its freshly appointed members, Niger’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Abdoulaye Seydou, underscored the event’s strategic importance for the nation’s economic future.

Demanding excellence and seamless collaboration

The minister emphasized the need for unwavering professionalism, strict adherence to deadlines, and flawless coordination among all stakeholders. This call to action is critical to the success of an event that extends beyond Niger’s borders. The forum will welcome high-level delegations from several guest countries, including Turkey, China, and Russia, as well as special guests from across Africa and beyond.

A broad diplomatic mobilization

The guest list extends beyond the expected international partners to include delegations from Burkina Faso, Mali, Togo, Ghana, Chad, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, India, and Saudi Arabia, reflecting the forum’s regional and global significance.

Four specialized subcommittees for structured leadership

The ad hoc committee brings together experts from various ministries and professional bodies, organized into four specialized subcommittees, each with a distinct mandate:

  • Scientific — Focused on identifying and promoting high-impact projects aligned with national development priorities.

  • Logistics, exhibitions, protocol, and security — Responsible for all operational arrangements, venue management, and participant safety.

  • Communication and institutional coordination — Tasked with promoting the forum nationally and internationally, managing media relations, and coordinating institutional partnerships.

  • Investor relations — Dedicated to engaging potential investors, curating investment-ready projects, and facilitating networking opportunities.

The committee’s mission is comprehensive: developing the event’s organizational strategy, crafting the agenda, selecting bankable projects to showcase, and ensuring maximum visibility both at home and abroad.

Positioning Niger as a top investment destination

Beyond logistics, this initiative reflects a broader political vision. The government’s Refoundation agenda aims to revitalize the national economy and position Niger as a strategic and preferred destination for private, regional, and international capital. The forum is set to become a key diplomatic and economic tool in this effort, especially as countries across the region seek to diversify their economic partnerships.

With just over four months remaining, the newly formed committee now faces the challenge of turning this ambitious roadmap into a reality—one that meets the government’s high expectations and reinforces Niger’s appeal on the global investment stage.
